XP11 monitor FPS locking has no effect?

Postby theskyisthelimit99 » Tue Dec 20, 2016 2:22 pm

It seems if i set my FI settings to say 1 fps for the monitor windowed view, the fps still shows the full rate, not 1 fps.. does this setting have no effect currently?

Also.. is there a way to resize the window by default to be say 640x480 to hopefully increase performance even more in the goggles?

(oculus rift)

Thanks

This is actually a setting I've been meaning to remove, I just keep forgetting. It made a big difference on older AMD cards (back in the DK2 days), but isn't really relevant these days. With a modern GPU, turning down monitor FPS makes almost zero difference to headset FPS/smoothness. Same goes with window size, the desktop window is taking a minuscule amount of resources compared to the simulator+vr. I know that won't help increase your FPS, but at least you will know to look in other places ;)
