Hello There,

my xp11 sound comes out of the pc's speakers and not from the Rift's integrated headphones.

I could not find any setting in XP11 to select/change the sound device.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

BlueThing

I am a HTC Vive user and I have to configure these settings in the Steam VR tool and not in XP.
Do Rift users have something similar? Maybe also Steam VR?

Everytime I play I have to go into Control Panel->Sound->Playback and set the default playback device to the rift. It works but gets pretty old doing it every time. You have to do it before you launch X-Plane.

Thanks for the advises but I'm not aware of any sound setting in the Oculus software itself.
somehow that also doesn't make sense to me.
Usually the application is the one to "choose" which sound device it is using.
if the application does not let you choose a device then it means that the default device is in use.

In my case, my default device is a virtual device (VoiceMeeter Banana) which I'm using to redirect the sound to 3 outputs at the same time (Rift's headphones, pc's speakers on rear panel and extra headphones on front panel). Funnily xp11 is using the speakers, which are not(!) the default device.

I do not want to use only the rift as the default device because in many situations (e.g. briefing / debriefing on TeamSpeak) I'm not using the rift but rather headphones or speakers and i don't want to have the rift sitting on my forehead the whole time just because of the audio.
