For me, this was not a pressurisation problem. Screen is completely black at SEA airport in any plane at startup. Disabled HDR in X-Plane 11 B8 settings and it works perfectly. Perhaps these are two separate problems if there are some people who can fly for minutes/hours until it goes black. If it's on start up try turning off HDR for now. Still a bug that needs fixing of course...

I have had this problem for a few betas now. In my case the screen goes black although everything else seems to be functioning; X-Plane's frame rate counter in the upper left keeps counting, sound continues, its just a totally black display on the desktop screen and in the Vive. This has nothing to do with pressurization in my case, these are flights well below 10,000 feet. In my case, I go into Graphics settings within X-Plane and change the FSAA number to something else; the screen comes back, no interruption of flight.

With everything beta at this point it's hard to guess where this is coming from: X-Plane, FI, Nvidia drivers ? Who knows ! For myself, I'm waiting for XP11 to go final before squawking stuff to airplane authors, Laminar, or FI...

Loving flying VR, can't wait for it to progress !

Hi Terry, To improve my FPS I never use AA in X-plane. I just use x8 in the Flyinside UI. I've only had one encounter with a "black out" and I was using AA in the settings. Maybe you have hit on something ?

You had HDR on or off? Are you able to make a full flight with XP11, FI, AA off and HDR On?

There is no problem with HDR in Xplane 11 when not using FI. As soon as I use FI, XP11 and HDR On, I got a black screen after 30-60 minutes. This bug should be a priority since we can't really have fun flying with HDR Off.

I have installed 1.73 (some days ago) and get better results re the black screen. I had thought the problem was gone but have experienced the black screen a few times in the past few days. I do run HDR btw. For me, what works is to go into Graphics, and change FSAA value to some other value. When returning to sim, black screen is gone and I can continue the flight. I realize this is not a "solution" but at least I can finish a flight this way.

I am not certain of this, but it seems to me when I go in to change FSAA value to get rid of the black screen, the FSAA value is not the same as what had it set at, i.e. X-Plane or FI or something is changing the FSAA value over time... Curious !

Can't wait for XP to go final... until that happens we're just tinkering ...

I get black screen to after 30-60 min, i tryed xplanes cessna and payware planes but same results. Is there any fix for this?
