My bad I had to take off the oculus because I did not map buttons to the view commands.
What I do now is mapping buttons to the following commandref:
sim/general/left General command: left.
sim/general/right General command: right.
sim/general/up General command: up.
sim/general/down General command: down.
sim/general/forward General command: forward.
sim/general/backward General command: backward.
And adjust the view when I start the flight. It's not sticking as I said, the default view will be reverted once you reload the aircraft.
I was definitely wrong in saying this is something that would need to be in FI. It's definitely not an issue once you have the buttons mapped, it's really a matter of seconds to use a hat to move forward / backward to find the right spot.
