Hi,

When I start Flyinside X-plane 11 launches fine but after seconds of loading I get the message;

FatalError
SteamAPI_init() failed
Steam must be running to play this game (steamAPI_init() failed)

Now of course Steam is actually running when I start Flyinside.
I have tried to run all the software with administrator privileges but that made no difference whatsoever.

NOTE: I am running Windows 10.

I have the exact same problem. The post you are referring to is almost 2 years old:) Does anyone know if there is an update on that ? I assume a lot of people buy x-plane from steam.

The post he referred you to is one day old. Xplane has just released on steam and there is a compatibility issue we are looking into.

Ah, terribly sorry, I must have seen the date that specific user joined the forum and by mistake.. nevermind
By the way, since I can't use flyinside right now, when the bug is fixed will the trial version still be available for a week? Otherwise I would have no way to test how it works before buying it.

The trial version is just that, a trial. 15 minutes at a time for as long as you want any probs then let me know mate.

Yep same problem here too. I also own Flyinside FSX which works fine, but the XP version gives me the SteamAPI error.

We are on it guys. Fix hopefully out very soon
