Does FlyInside XP Pro support SLI?

Postby KhaNab » Thu Apr 06, 2017 4:41 am

Hey Team,

thanks for this great addon!

I read that P3D version supports SLI and was curious about improvements on the X-Plane side. I would like to have the Game render on one GPU (GTX970) and Oculus uses the second (another GTX970). Currently it is barely enjoyable :(

I know, this is not SLI - but I´m looking for ways to utilize the hardware better, even XP is not running on SLI. Maybe Flyinside is able to mirror from one card to another? I tried the setup - but unfortunately, I got it crashing with:

169.52 Hooks\OpenGL\ProgramManager.cpp 54 Linking program 298 - 299 -1 300
169.547 Hooks\OpenGL\ProgramManager.cpp 54 Linking program 301 - 302 -1 303
169.563 Utils\Asserts.cpp 70 FlyInside Fatal Error Encountered (-2147024809, 0)
Rendering\FastTextureQueue.cpp: Line 109
Please post this message to http://flyinside-fsx.com/forum/
Be sure to include what hardware, software, and versions you are running

many thanks!

I can't help directly with your issue. I did ask Dan the developer his views on sli for flyinsidexp when I was considering a graphics card update. His response was to go for a better single card setup.

Right now, the simple answer is "No". Right now FlyInside XP is single-GPU only. That said, it is theoretically possible to port our VR SLI support (from Prepar3D) to our X-Plane version, but not something we can look into for a month or two, until after we've stabilized some of our more critical issues.

Thanks,
Dan
