Better FPS: Rendering options tool for XP11!

Postby Stevil » Thu Apr 06, 2017 12:16 pm

Hey guys,

if you want to configure your X-Plane 11 settings in detail like you were able in X-Plane 10 this tool should be on your radar:
http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/fo ... -released/

Maybe this tool helps to improve your frame rate dramatically by switching off some features you don't use or notice.

Great. Thanks for the tipp.
Can you post a screenshot of your settings?
I don`t know what I can disable to get good fps with not to much quality issues.
Thanks a lot.

After Installing it I got some reflection issue in the cockpit window...

Hi Nils,

I must confess: I haven't tried it out yet, since I don't have problems with my fps.
Better try to get some help at the x-plane.org forum ;)

Thank you.

Well I deinstalled it now.
I bought 1TB SSD for Xplane only.
And I disable all Autogen things. I use Ortho4XP imagery now. So I dont need any road and buildings overlays. I get now 40/90fps which is pretty good for me and I`m happy now.

Okay, I see.

I still would recommend to use the Ortho4XP overlays like roads and street lights and stuff if your pc is powerful enough. Are you CPU or GPU limited?

The downside I see with ortho and the reason I uninstalled was over London, I lost all my streetlights with XP11 rc1. Do you see that anywhere Stephan ?

Yes of course Tony!

It's important to do the last step in Ortho4XP: building the overlays. Otherwise streets and streetlights are missing and you only have the "plain" terrain.

Yes, but the street overlays disturb me somehow. I know i don`t have any Streetlights. I only fly in daytime anyway.
I really need new CPU and GPU. I have to save up some money.

Today I ordered:

-INTEL Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake Prozessor, unlocked
-ASUS STRIX Z270F GAMING, ATX, LGA1151
-HyperX Fury DDR4 2133MHz 16GB (2x 8GB)

If I don`t get much better performance I have to replace my GTX 970 too
