which weather addon works with flyinside xp11?

Postby jetaro » Sun Apr 30, 2017 12:33 pm

I was skimming through some posts and was seeing issues related to xenviro... so either xenviro or skymaxx pro work ok with this now?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

Xenviro kind of worked for me, but I uninstalled it pretty fast, and I deeply regret spending money on it. It might be OK in 2D, but in VR it's much worse than the default clouds in XP11 (and for many aspects even the weather system). Xp11 clouds are particle based, and though not perfect, you can still see those particles, since they are not very small, but still it's the most volumetricky feeling I've had in VR flight simulation so far. Xenviro on the other hand has 2D clouds and puts you back right to the FS2002 era. (I know even FSX used 2D clouds, but xenviro is worse, especially in VR). For this reason I haven't tried it with 1.8, and with the previous version I had to use Xenviro 1.04, later versions didn't work.
I don't know skymaxx pro, but despite some obvious shortcomings I'm quite happy with the default system for now.

Nothing to add here:
X-Enviro looked very promising, coming from XP10. But when Laminar Research made their particle clouds I uninstalled X-Enviro and used the default XP11 clouds from that moment on. That's my recommendation for you also :)
