The oculus is DK2 ... no touch sensors possible. Cannot use the software with "oculus home" - not applicable.

"Oculus home" ... now I see what you mean. That came with a later driver but it conflicted with the DK2. Had to revert to earlier runtime version to regain connectivity of the DK2.

It should still be possible to use it and just bypass the controllers and sensor setup no ?

thank you. Found runtime 1.3.2 online (last version to work with DK2). ...just need to remember how to install runtime (been a couple years) as there's no exe file.

ok... figured out Oculus basically got lazy with later runtimes and one has to overwrite files and use an older installer executable to trick itself into installing the newer SDK. Tested the DK2 with the SDK 1.3.2 and it works fine.

Installed flyinside pro 1.4 for OVR 0700 and it seemed to add a step in the self-install process (a good sign) and finished with a window to click to run when completed.

Now, I have a start error message:

Unable to execute file
c:\program files (x86)...\common\fsx\flyinside.exe

CreateProcess failed; code 740
The requested operation requires elevation.

I stood up but it didn't fix the problem.

only tried the "welcome to Oculus" and the "Oculus Demo" in runtime (look at a desk and items on it). Both worked fine. I've only used these app types and FSX (with flyinside) in the past.

should I try a different runtime? The oculus website only offer .8 for legacy (DK2) headsets. I did see some chatter about a newer runtime working with the DK2. I may give that a shot. thoughts?
