These numbers show negligible differences between the two when the system isn't strained at all. Throughout these tests I was hitting over 75FPS in the Rift and very extreme surges from 80FPS to 200FPS when playing without the Rift. I just installed FSX back on my system earlier, but I will keep installing my old addons until it starts to whine.

I may have activated the high-res scenario, and found out the hard way how my computer doesn't have the oomph to support it. How can I change this back to default?

Hi mate post your system specs for us :) If you look on the Flyinside UI (User Interface) you will see a list there , resolution may already be on high but I thought standard was default, If on high reset to default(Standard). Also try setting the FPS lock to 30 and see how you get on. Remember to restart FSX after any changes on the UI. Any more help you need just ask.

And Welcome :)

Also bind a key to remove the UI if it's getting in your way. Experiment :)

Hi!

My specs are:

AMD FX-8350
(overclocked) Radeon 7970 3GB
8 Gb RAM

That's it. Probably not quite cut for 4k just yet. Again, is there an .ini file I have to alter to revert the resolution back to normal?

Additionally I'm curious - I know that the DK2 renders images internally at 2364x1461 for FullHD res (1920x1080), does anyone knows the internal resolution for 4k rendering?

No .ini file mate , just need to do as I said in the UI , I see your specs are pretty similar to mine. Getting rid of my HD7970 very soon though. as for internal , is that within Flyinside ? because that is 3840x2374. (tricked)

Does your system run fsx ok ? I have the FX9370 and it do get warm, like an extra heater in the house. Thank god for water cooling lol

I have a 1650x1080 monitor, and without VR I run it maxxed out with AA on.

With FlyInside I get ~25FPS on Low detail and ~70 after asynchronous timewarp.
