Hi All,

I've just released the FlyInside FSX Alpha Preview 0.7 at http://flyinside-fsx.com/ (be sure to refresh it). It fixes a regression where sometimes the Rift would not display images on certain NVIDIA configurations. Let me know how it runs for you

Hi there, for some reason Rift does not display the pecture with my confeguration of fsx.cnf.

Rift will show the the sky as but not the FSX

But as soon as i delete the config it will works, but FPS is half of what i get in the normal screen.

Nomral is 60-70fps

Hate to say this, Dan, but I'm getting worse performance with alpha 0.7 than 0.1. My FSX framerate is about the same, but the timewarped framerate drops to 72-73 every now and then, causing stutters. I'm going to test more extensively when I get the time. The problem disappeared when I downgraded to 0.1; I get rock solid 75 FPS with that version. Going to switch back and forth between 0.1 and 0.7 to compare tomorrow.

Hey Slava, two things that I noticed with your FSX.CFG. 1: You have the wrong affinity mask for an i7...You should try 84 instead. 2: Your bufferpools tweak is contradictory. First you are saying not to use bufferpools and then you are specifying numbers for BP to use. You have to either remove the BP=0 or the other parts. *edit* Hey actually, there are many issues with your config. Do like you said before, and delete your old FSX.cfg or rename to FSX.old, then run FSX, then quit. Then put the affinity mask as 84, and HighMemFix and nothing else to begin with. Then try Flyinside. When it's in the rift, it will go a lot slower than with a monitor, so you'll want to completely disable Freeway traffic, and all shadows. Do not force Vsync or set high settings within Nvidia inspector, or any of that stuff until it's running smooth with a mostly default setup.

Finally got a chance to play with Alpha 0.7, and I have to say that there are only a couple more issues to resolve before this becomes a AAA product. This version works out the glitch that didn't let me see through the Rift introduced in the Alpha ver. 6. I was able to do a flight from Kelowna to Seattle in a thunderstorm at dusk with virtually no lag or judder the entire flight in an A2A B377, captain of the ship version. After landing and taxiing to the gates, there was minor judder when looking at the airport, but not enough to break immersion because it was only my plane and not the background that was juddery (if that makes sense). I know this was due to the B377 because after all passengers were unloaded, I received an OOM, and I wasn't moving, the aircraft systems were completely off, and it was just the crew sitting there commenting about this last flight. I would wager 100 push ups that there would be 0% problems doing the same flight with a default FSX plane. The only issues now are the ATC window (and other informational windows) not populating in the Rift, as well, when the ATC window is up on the monitor, I cannot click functions within the plane until I close the ATC window. These are minor problems, and can easily be worked around. Flyinside FSX is just fantastic so far!!! Kudos to you Dan for making this THE BEST VR mod for a retro, non VR game. Vereio and Vorpx don't even come close.

And I am running it as administrator

also is it possible that after trying this alpha 1 my extended mode stopped working and uninstalling did not help ? it happened roughly the same time I installed the alpha.

Try right clicking on the file in your downloads folder and hitting properties. There may be a message about it potentially being a harmful file from another computer (because it is an .exe file, but it's not a virus or malicious in any way) Then you would hit "unblock" and then try installing it again.
