PMDG 737NGX fail to initialize after DisablePauseControl=1

Postby pilotoring » Sun Dec 25, 2016 9:47 am

After adding [DisablePauseControl = 1] under [options], PMDG 737NGX aircraft fails to initialize. The usual clicking sound and screen blinking associated with the initialization process is absent. All the switches are closed and all knobs cannot be turned. Other aircraft behaves similarly. My default setting is "ready to go", but now all flights are "cold and dark", all switches and knobs are inoperable. But I usually can use "Flight>reset" to make it running, but the same cannot be done with PMDG aircraft (it causes CTD).

That's interesting. Do you only get CTD if you load the simulator directly to the PMDG with DisablePauseControl, or does it happen if you load a different aircraft and then switch?

<Do you only get CTD if you load the simulator directly to the PMDG with DisablePauseControl,>

Yes. CTD only happens with PMDG 737NGX. Other acf will survive "reset flight"

<or does it happen if you load a different aircraft and then switch?>

It actually becomes the workaround I use all the time. 1)load a flight using other acf, 2)reset flight to make the acf operable, and 3)switch to PMDG. Now everything works.

I suspect this is a bug--the need to reset flight for all acf's.

Thank you.

Finally I figured out what's wrong with my problem. I think it should be an easy fix for future update.

It turns out that when I load a free flight, the flight will be in "pause" mode. All I need to do is to press "P" to make everything work. So no need to do reset or load a default acf before loading PMDG acf.

PMDG has also confirmed that their aircraft cannot be reset on top of itself.

The problem keeps shrinking. LOL. I hope to provide the last update about this problem. It turns out that if I go back to default flight of fsx-se, i.e. the trike in Friday harbor, I will not have this issue. I can switch to any other aircraft, PMDG included, and the simulator won't be paused.

Bizarre ? And PMDG are aware ? I'll point Dan to this to have a look ;)
