FSX Crashing immediately upon starting

So I've installed FSX, a clean installation from Steam, beforehand I removed everything FSX from %appdata% and any other installation areas, and also any FSX registry entries.

FSX boots and runs fine with that clean install.

Then I install FlyInside and as soon as it launches FSX and gets to the main menu, it crashes. Pasted below is the crash details from the event viewer:

I'm running Windows 10 x64, 16gig, Intel i7, GTX1080 SSC and Oculus Rift.

Unfortunately not. FSX is launching when I launch FlyInside, but immediately after reaching the main FSX menu it crashes.

Can I get someone to send me their d3d9.dll file from their FSX root directory? I want to see if my version is somehow corrupt.

Okay, I fixed it.. Problem was, the FlyInside installer wanted to install an older version of the Visual C++ 2013 x86 redistributor but I had a newer one installed already...

Solution:

Download every version of Visual C++ 2013 x86 redistributor that your PC has installed. (so you can reinstall them when done) You ONLY need to remove and reinstall Visual C++ 2013 X86 versions!

Uninstall every version of Visual C++ 2013 x86

Reboot

Reinstall FlyInside (it will install the version of Visual C++ 2013 x86 that it needs.

Install any other later versions of visual C++ you had installed.

Reboot.

Run FSX via FlyInside

Thats interesting and a good find. Maybe this is why some FSX boxed users have issues ?

So I installed A2A Cessna 172 with Accu-sim and it broke it again. It's doing the same thing. I tried the solution again and it did NOT fix it. I'm so frustrated at this point that I think I'm just going to give up on it for now....

No, I'm not 100% certain. I can't find detail instructions on exactly what that is or how to disable it. I do have SteamVR in my "Tools" section of the Library on Steam. It is "Ready to Play". But when I go into it's settings, I'm opted out of all beta options for that. Are you saying that I just need to completely uninstall the SteamVR from the Tools area altogether?

I've uninstalled it from there. My steam still has a little "VR" button at the very top right but I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about. I can find no other place in the software that has anything to do with VR other than removing that entry from Tools. The sim still crashes upon startup just the same. I emailed support yesterday and have not heard back.
