I can totally understand you: I also would not want to fly without VR.
To be honest I am very sorry for your issue...the question is why it makes problems?! :? I'm afraid Dan is away these days so we have to try to figure it out without him...

Can you try to uninstall it in safe mode?

Yes, I am at a dead end right now, and being a tech.support engineer I am gutted I cannot figure it out.

Looking at my notes I have already tried safe mode, but, will try again right now so it's documented here.

Looking at the error message...is there anything left in the fsx directory from FlyInside that you can see at first glance?

Sorry for the delay, had a call - typical.

So I have uninstalled again via safemode, and the only folder/files left behind appear to be:

C:\Users\David\AppData\Roaming\FlyInside

Which I believe to be correct given they are all modified files since the install took place, so manually delete the folder.

Looking through the registry I only find references to path searches I have made in the os and AV exclusions.

Unless you have any further questions, I am now going to try the last known working version "FLYINSIDE_FSX_PRO_1.52_OVR_1300.exe"

So I run "FLYINSIDE_FSX_PRO_1.52_OVR_1300.exe" "as admin..", but still getting the same error:

installerror3.JPG
installerror3.JPG (74.16 KiB) Viewed 11175 times

Same occurs for
"FLYINSIDE_FSX_PRO_1.62_OVR_1300.exe"
"FLYINSIDE_FSX_PRO_1.71_OVR_1300.exe"
"FLYINSIDE_FSX_PRO_1.75_OVR_1300.exe"

BUT. Not for "FLYINSIDE_FSX_PRO_1.81_OVR_1300.exe" the latest release.

This pattern follows releases since 1.62. So when 1.62 came out, I got that integer message for previous versions, and although I can click ok past it the installation does not work.

Hope that makes sense.

So we know this has not changed the installation of older versions, but will now check the flyinside switch menu options.

Okay so now we have a version working? The latest version installs fine?

I cannot install previous versions due to the error I just showed, but the latest version (oddly) does not show that error and appears to install fine.

BUT. The latest version has other issues when switching aircraft or choosing airports, and sadly that still has not changed now :-(

So even after using safe mode to uninstall, nothing has changed and the same "fatal error.." problems still exist.

Really frustrated.

Seems there is no solution for these 2 issues.

a) crash when switching aircraft and airports
b) unable to revert to previous versions.

Gutted as I seem to be going nowhere :-(

Ok plan B. Wait til the holidays are over and I'll get the devs to teamview your pc and hopefully we'll get to the bottom of this.
