FSX SE crashing

Postby EaglemanGT » Sat Jul 21, 2018 11:17 pm

System Specs:
3.50 GHz Gen 6 i5
16GB Dual Channel RAM 1066MHz
Asus GTX 1060 OC 6gb
Triple 24"HD Monitors
Oculus Rift

FlyInside sets up on the right monitor, can not move, nor resize - Issue #1
This causes me to lose the mouse arrow on occasion having to lift the Oculus off to find it on the screens and return to the FlyInisde window.

FlyInside basically removes DX11 shaders on startup - Issue #2

Texture quality suffers while using FlyInside and Oculus Rift. Running MS FSX straight and I get all the textures I can handle. - Issue #3

Crashing the Sim - Multiple times, different aircraft, various scenery.

Using the latest v1.95 FlyInside

Looking forward to getting this resolved, this is the best $27.00 I have spent for any sim.

Thank you,
EaglemanGT

Hi Gary and welcome ;) can you try just the one monitor? I assume you have triple head to go or similar running?

No on the triple head. I am not running FSX in triples even without the oculus. My triples are setup in surround and will work individually. Still doesn't answer the crash. The crash is in the oculus only, FSX won't crash if using without flyinside.
So, what does the crash report say, so I can fix it?
Thanks

Got Dan to take a look mate and this is his reply......hopefully we can start tracking it down.......=

it basically means "the graphics driver got upset". Could be a bug in our software, could be an invalid config, incompatible addon, could be just a bit of bad luck ?

The specific error is "The graphics card/driver crashed and reset" but it doesn't give us any hint as to why ?

Do you have any camera utilities installed Gary ?

No sir on the camera utilities. I do have OBS Studio, but not using that at the time of any crashes. I will try to isolate any addons as these game crashes happen. Might go back a driver see if that helps just incase new drivers are crap.

Thanks for taking a look and giving me somewhere to look.

Again, this is the best addon for FSX out there, makes the intire game/sim worth the time to get it right. I put this VR ability above iRacing and iRacing has it pretty good with immersion.

Cheers
Gary
