You didn't post that you have SLI, so I'm assuming that you have not disabled the on board graphics of your Intel CPU. So then the question becomes...Why haven't you disabled the onboard graphics of your CPU? The cost savings for power consumption is minimal due to the downclocking of your GTX 970 during non graphical operations. Disable the onboard....it obviously causes issues. Not just with this, but other issues will haunt you as well.
