FF A320 Ultimate

Postby Greyman » Tue Nov 07, 2017 3:58 pm

this plane really does look and fly like a beauty. unfortunately, it currently only works in 2d, with some VR-freeze type issue currently preventing it from working at all in FI XP.

the good news is i understand that Dan is currently helping FF to find a solution to the problem.

suffice it to say, if you are thinking of getting this aircraft for the next phase of the beta, you might either want to wait for positive news on this corrective work or install another copy of XP for use with monitors. It is a pain having to set up views to look at the various parts of the cockpit, but when you do step back into VR, it certainly stops you taking the improvements that brings for granted.

hopefully a future post in this forum will herald the welcome news of a fix.

I also got it yesterday but the view in VR is really totally destroyed... :|

After installation of that bird my FlyInside was not working at all - after removal of the CEF-plugin (included in the A320U) everything was fine again. Just in case anyone has problems with it....

Hey Greyman,

yeah, the A320U is still not usable in VR. But with the CEF-plugin my whole X-Plane went nuts (another user also had this problem today). I couldn't use it anymore, even with other planes. The loading screen was all messed up.

After removing CEF-plugin X-Plane was usable again but the A320U is still not good.

Yup, which is why i asked, as even though i can get to the initial menu OK, once i load a flight, with any aircraft, it behaves in a similar VR-freeze manner as it does with the A320.

I currently have a 2d, non-FI, version of XP that i use for the A320 and a FI version, with the CEF folder removed, for flying everything else.

2d is not good, particularly when you have experienced the full VR cockpit, but as this aircraft is so good, i will stick it until FF or FI or both find a solution to the problem

It's a pity it's not working yet.... today I replied to your post in the A320U beta forum and ask about any progress...

I'm not sure where the hold-up is, but from my experience with FF on the similar issues i had with their 757 and 767, it will probably be a mixture of not yet having any VR hardware and apathy. VR pilots are a little bit in short supply at the moment, but that is very likely to grow, particularly when XP launch their native version.

hello. i just updated to 1.9 trial and am trying to run it with the FFa230 Ultimate. There is a weird glitch that makes a double cockpit appear as a reflection on the windshield. If you need any more info please let me know.

Disable reflections in the EFB and those are gone until they get fixed.
Dan wanted to give us A320U support ASAP and will fix this later
