Get WMR working

Postby idefixgallier » Mon Apr 30, 2018 4:14 pm

Hi!

I have the samsung odyseey with Steam VR and the Windows Mixed Realty plugin running
(with native P3D and Aerofly FS2)
But ... FlyInside wont start any VR mode, and i have no idea why.

Did i miss something (Flyinside complained about not having oculus software while installing) - do it need one?

kind regards

If you are trying to start p3d with Flyinside then make sure you have downloaded the correct version and make sure p3d native isn't active. And with AF2 Flyinside won't work with that ;)

Okay, i see now what you mean with the "right version" - just overlooked the Steam VR download.

Works quite good BUT the resolution that Flyinside is using, is not the correct one.
You can read the displays in the aircraft and spot objects in detail in distance if i use the native mode.
For me it seams that Flyinside is using the resolution of the Rift CV1 for the Samsung Odyssey too ... what is wrong (and a loss of quality)

Can you check that?

Kind regards

We see the same thing in the Vive Pro. Got a thread started there too. We'll get there. There’s more and more seeing this same thing. I’m sure Dan is on it. We'll just need a bit of patience.

This thread is quite old, so didn't know whether to start a new one...... I'll try this

After installing FlyInside (flyinside_FSX_pro_1.96_Vive_1000) in my FSX folder (FSX SP2) running on D:, I load by clicking the FlyInside icon, I cannot get any VR mode when FSX loads up. All I can see is the normal FSX display.
I have a feeling I'm missing something critical, or the plugin is not working.
I'm using a Odyssey in Win 10, i9 9820, 32 GB RAM, GTX 980. The WMR Portal comes up ok in the HMD.
Any suggestions?
