I've seen people talk about how to bring moving map into the sim in VR, can anyone put a link up to said moving map, or is it just the one in steam?

Just use the "Location -> Map" menu 
It's not really done yet (you can't uncenter the map from the aircraft, and text can be hard to read), but it's worth checking out.
