Hello Chris!

I don't know which VR glasses you use, anyway, I have the Oculus Rift and for this product there are the "Oculus Tray Tools" with which you can limit the frames to 45. In this case, the Oculus client software provides enough frames. The exact technical description can be found on the internet.

Gunter, thank you for responding to my question, I'll look for the info you suggested.
I also use Oculus Rift, do you use vsync when using the Rift?
I haven't noticed anything in the Tray Tool documentation specifying anything on vsync.
Thanks again.

Hello Chris!

The setting V-Sync does absolutely nothing if you fly with VR. I have constantly 89-90 frames and if I switch on V-Sync, there are still 90 frames. When I use OTT and turn on ASW Mode, the frames are kept at 45-46.

What do you want to do that for? What are you trying to do?

Many greetings from Germany

Gunter is correct. This varies some from game to game, but in FIFS, we automatically disable vsync, regardless of setting, while VR mode is turned on. So you're safe to turn it on and limit yourself to the monitor refresh rate on desktop, it'll turn off automatically once you go into VR.
