Andy,
A kindred spirit! As long as the Flight Model is accurate and I can get some practice hours in without worrying about costly repairs (;)) I'm happy. When the new and remodeled Helicopters come out (hopefully soon) You should be very pleased. As a very high time pilot, I really tried to get them to "feel" right all the way around.

Also, the cockpit modeling is great. I,m for one, don;t really care much about counting rivets, but the exterior models look pretty sweets as well. Not that I ever look at them while flying. It's a flight sim, not a R/C sim!

Andy,
It's tough being able to see where we are at, beta-wise and not being able to share the immense progress. I'm pretty helicopter centric, but the improvements across the board are pretty amazing.

I am pretty happy with the Leap Motion implementation. being able to reach up and flip a switch without resorting to the VR controllers is absolutely fantastic!

Wait till you see them.

Thanks Rick, that sounds awesome!

Was just trying to reassure that there will be no repeat of P3D vs FSW, which what I think people are worried about. MSFS and FFS are on sufficiently different trajectories for them to coexist peacefully.

Great news about the helos too. I log a lot of time in helicopters and it has been a long time since we had a P3D helicopter that could mimic real-world performance for more agile helicopters (back flips, rolls and loops in an AlphaSim lynx AH7)

I know people feel that updates of late have been slow and the forum quiet, but I also develop software and know that perceived progress ebbs and flows, and that there is a massive overhead in releasing a new version and that many won't be aware of the QA aspect of software development that is a necessary evil.

Been a long time since I logged real-world stick time but I have a brother, cousin and several friends who are/were professional military and civil pilots to give me the lowdown on accuracy, and what I experience in FFS is good enough and challenging enough for me.

Maybe a teaser now and again won't go amiss and keep the faith! Which of course you have now provided so thanks for taking the time with a comprehensive answer.

Kind regards

Andy
