Problem for some cycle views

Postby gerod » Tue Oct 16, 2018 11:00 am

Hello,

When changing the views in cycle mode most displays are normal. It is not the case for 3 of them int the case of the B55 as shown on the screenshots. For others planes only 1 or 2 views are strange. There is no problem for the OTTER.

Best regards

Hi gerod,

Thanks for letting us know - looks like some of the views need to be moved around a bit. Is that first screenshot what you see when you're in "Global View" mode?

Thanks,
Malcolm

Hello,
Whatever the view mode (internal, external - circle -) such displays do not appear at the beginning of a cycle, generally after more than 4 clicks. I also have noticed that for a given plane the strange display is not necessary always the same. In the case of the B55 pilot's legs may be replaced by another anomaly. If I start cycling with the global mode a strange display appears. In fact the first display when starting with this mode is an anormal one.

Hello,
Thank you for the 0.3.6.2 update. Most problems have been solved mainly on the B55. Visual aspect of runways lightings is also much better.

Hello,
Something changed: there is now no difference in the external view mode between "circle world relative" and "circle aircraft relative".
Best regards

Glad you're enjoying the update! Those two circle views are effectively identical when the aircraft is stopped on a flat surface. You should notice a difference when you're flying - try rolling in midair and seeing if they're different then. In world-relative mode, you should see the plane rotate, while in aircraft-relative mode, the camera will rotate instead. Let us know if the views are still identical in that case.

Thanks,
Malcolm

Hello,
In fact whatever the mode (world relative or aircraft relative) I see no difference when flying: both plane and landscape are rotating when I turn the dedicated knob. Perhaps there is something I have not understood.
Thank you for further explanations.

Hello, sorry if that was unclear. I made a brief video that demonstrates the difference between the views: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTdJxWz-nfo&feature=youtu.be

The first 17 seconds are the world-relative view, while the rest is the aircraft-relative view. I did a full rotation of the plane on each axis to show the difference. I didn't move my view around at all, just the plane. I hope that clarifies things a bit. Does this match the behavior you're getting, or are you seeing something else?

Hello,
Thank you very much for the video. It is clear for me now. As the “world relative” view seems (for me) more natural and realistic in what circumstances is it better to shift to the “aircraft relative” view ? At the moment I fly using the monitor, not in VR, and perhaps this view is a specific one for VR ?
Anyway this video was very useful and I thank you again for explanations.
Best regards

Hi Gerod,

Aircraft relative can be pretty nice when you're flying from an external view. That way as the aircraft turns you're still looking in the direction of flight.
