OpenTrack Head Tracking

Postby Kento » Sun Oct 21, 2018 3:19 pm

Should I be able to use head tracking software? I use OpenTrack (Similar to Track-IR) with P3D & DCS but can't seem to make it work with the FlyInside sim. FWIW, I'm attempting to use the Freetrack 2.0 Enhanced game output like I use for DCS.

Thanks,

Kent

Hello, unfortunately, I don't believe we have currently have plans for OpenTrack support. I'll confirm this and get back to you.

Is Track-IR supported? If so, opentrack should work as well.

Track-IR is not currently supported, but there are a couple paths to it possibly becoming supported: see https://forum.flyinside-fsx.com/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=7140&p=31458&hilit=trackir#p31458

It's not at the top of our priority list at the moment, but there are two ways I see this going:
A. It'll be super easy for a third party to add, after our next SDK update. Some aspiring developer may just create a plugin for TrackIR support :)
B. No one does A, and a decent number of people are asking for it, we'll of course add it ourselves at that point.
