CV1 inbound

Just got my e-mail with order status updated to "processed", and funds drawn from my card. Since I'm moving on May 31:st it's going to be a thrill to see if it arrives before I move out... Will have to talk nicely with the new owners otherwise! :D (I hope UPS will not deliver it and give me a notice to come pick it up otherwise)

Anyway, it's happening! Excited!

Although, I'm not excited by recent Oculus company practises. It's becoming a really disgusting company. I'm so sad to see all "doomsday prophets" that said Facebook would turn Oculus to sh## becoming right. I really really hoped they would be wrong. :(

Nice one mate :) me next hopefully! I Totally agree, I watch the Oculus official forums and the horror stories make me so worried about receiving mine and it's a dud. The customer service is shocking :(
Ooooh and what number was you ? I'm a 33er

I think they are getting a lot of bad press but it'll all come out in the wash. Have you seen the number of Vive's delivered with bad pixels?

BTW, it's worth signing up to the free UPS serivce/app called 'My Choice' I think, you'll get email/app to track the delivery although it doesn't help much if your van is stuck in football traffic all day :(

I'm a 33:er as well! Order time around 36 minutes in iirc. I'm sure you will be next, Tony! :)
Haven't seen the number of Vives with bad pixels, but I'm sure they have their problems too. Nothing in this world is perfect! ;) It's just that I don't agree with a lot of Oculus policies recently. Oh well, time will tell.
Thanks for the tip about "My Choice"! I'll definitely look into that!

I hope nobody gets spooked by the bad pixel stuff in either camp. The folks with bad pixels will tend to be much more vocal about that than all the people with perfect screens. My Vive has a perfect screen and everything else works great with no glitches. I'm sure there are plenty more Vive and Rift owners with similar experiences. There are thousands on thousands of these things out now and I've been watching the bad pixels reports on both. There really aren't that many. Percentage-wise it's really very very low. I think they just stick out because everyone really does not want to have to deal with that.

New products and both are having to sort out manufacturing issues as well as customer service. HTC was at first honoring returns for bad pixels, then stopped, then went back to it. I've heard Oculus has also had customer support issues on pixels. But they are getting sorted and I'm confident the few that are having issues will get theirs replaced/fixed. It would certainly be a bummer, though.

Congrats Axel!

Great news Axel, really excited for you!

I was just using the bad pixel issue as an example, there are issues in both camps as you say but we're only hearing about the vocal minority. Both headsets seem to be on the money and I'm hoping to get to try the Vive in the next couple of weeks as a comparison, can't wait!
