Don't know about the GTX 1080 but I did pick of an RX-480 with my Oculus. My machine would not pass the Oculus test with an AMD R9-390 ASUS Strick 4 GB. The 480 w/8GB is one nice card, very fast and a solid card. Paid $ 239.00 at BBUY. Happy new year. BaldyB

these are my x-plane 11 5 settings for my rx480 from the appdata config settings [Graphics] MSAA = 0 DX11 Adapter = Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics \\.\DISPLAY1 Overdraw = 0.9 UseFastTextureQueue = 1 DX9 Adapter = Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics \\.\DISPLAY1 Enable VR Optimizations = 1 Oculus Target Resolution = 3840 2374 Monitor Display FPS = 500 LockSimulatorFrameRateRift2 = 1 EnableFXAA2 = 0 if you drop oculus target resolution to the next lowest in the flyinside menu you will get even better frame rates let me know how you go
