how do I record & playback fsx/p3d Ai aircraft in vr

Postby rossj202 » Wed Nov 29, 2017 7:28 am

Hi everyone
As you all know the fsx/p3d built in recorders don't record Ai aircraft during a flight or on the ground for that matter. I have used a few 3rd party recorders like fraps , and most recently D3DGear to record Ai aircraft The problem I have is being able to playback these files in vr using my oculus rift cv1 for viewing. It was suggested to me that I use Whirligig or virtual desktop as playback devices. I have tried using Whirligig paid version but I am seeing a SBS (side by side ) image. Virtual Desktop costs more but is supposed to playback anything you can throw at it. The D3DGear recorder allows selection of several codecs so I don't really know if my recording setup is the problem or the playback is the problem, so am hesitant to buy virtual desktop. Any comments please .

I have solved my problem after posting on a couple of other forums.
