FSX - Realistic Flight Model - Always goes to left

Postby Derek Speare » Sat Nov 21, 2015 2:14 pm

So I am beside myself with this. I have reformatted my system now 4 times to solve it. The issue is that when the flight model is set to anything other than Easy, the plane always yaws off to the left - badly. My controller assignments are perfect. I have also tested against two separate installations of FSX, one Steam and the other non Steam. The problem is there and completely repeatable. It even happens when there are no controllers hooked up to the computer and only the keyboard is used.

I recently was forced to do a system do-over due to some other issues that could not be prevented. Before that was done, everything was perfect. The system is the baseline as far as Windows goes with only the rock bottom necessary software installed on it. Does anyone have any knowledge of such a situation? P3D v2.5 doesn't have the issue, nor does DCS. I'm really wanting to pull out my hair over it. Any help is appreciated.

I take it that this is something other than the P-factor? I have a similar issue, but for me, tapping the breaks briefly helps. I think the left wheel brake is somehow stuck in parking brake mode when starting a flight. Tapping my break pedals disables the parking brake.

Thank you. I should try that. Unfortunately, it happens in flight, too :( :(

and I presume it happens with all aircraft?

What about with all controllers unplugged? (I know you're sure your assignments are perfect but could something be spiking?)

Derek, also check for duplicated controls. It could be you have something set to actually trim or yaw the aircraft to the left.

In the Settings menu you want to turn everything off for flight control input if you use FSUIPC and just let FSUIPC handle it.

I found on my system that a number of things were also aliased as flight control inputs by default.

Thanks, gents :) Yes, I have tried with the controllers unplugged. I will have to test with FSUIPC and see what that does. To say this is maddening is an understatement :/

FSUIPC didn't help. I'm at a loss :/

Maybe your FSX is subtly hinting how to vote come the next elections?

But honestly, no idea. I would have guessed the torque if this happened only on prop planes, but if it also occurs with jets and choppers, I don't have a clue.

Slap me if you checked already ? Auto rudder is unticked? When you fly can you check externals and see if you see a discrepancy with the control surfaces. And also check that your mouse isn't set to any of the controls.

Dunno if it's an election predictor...

Yep, I checked all that too. Autoruder is off and the control surfaces and wheels are all aligned properly. There's no reason this should be happening :(
