Magnifying glass

Postby jkeye » Sat Jul 30, 2016 9:38 pm

Can someone please advise how to use this function?I've set up a key binding but it doesn't do anything.
Also I don't seem to have the option to adjust this in the bindings menu. There is a magnifying glass option in the bindings (last choice down but no option buttons to choose from). Also I don't know how to set 4k resolution. Is this only for 4k monitors?

Hi Jay , try setting a key binding on your joystick for binocular zoom, this helps greatly with looking at hard to see gauges. As for the 4k resolution. It is in the settings and this just improves the clarity in your headset. But this can be dependent on your graphics card. ;) Also check in the latest news in the forum at the top. Dan has released a wiki manual and this may help explain a few bits for you.

Hey Jay, you probably need to bind some keys to zoom in and zoom out. There is the zoom function toggle and then the zoom factor adjust as well. It's been a while but maybe the beginning zoom isn't much at all and you just need to set the zoom factor higher? I have zoom in and out set the . and enter keys on my keyboard keypad and just leave the zoom factor alone for the most part and then use a joystick button to turn it on/off and zoom in/out that more or less fixed amount.

Thanks for those replies.
Am I right in believing that the magnifying glass option
is actually separate from binocular zoom?

Hehe. You probably are. I was referring to binocular zoom... I think. ;-)

I guess I don't use magnifying glass. Will check...
