Hey Ted,

Cheers for your input, and I'm happy its working for you. But there are at least 3 users on this forum with the issue (and likely more who haven't posted), all of which this has just started happening recently. It is unlikely to be something user-specific as you suggest.
I have done a complete reinstall of windows in an attempt to remove all variables to test this problem, and it is still happening.
We aren't asking for the developer to drop everything and focus on our bug (we know he is very busy), we just want some acknowledgement and maybe some other troubleshooting steps to try.

Once you experience flight simulation in VR, it is basically impossible to go back (as you know). I'm getting flight addiction withdrawals :P

Well I know what addiction is I have just spent nearly 48 hours to solve a problem between MCE and PF3 communicating with other and was a hotkey assignment  . I will sleep well tonight.

When you say it is freezing, is the monitor still showing the sim active but it is frozen in the headset? I am wondering if it is loosing sight of the lighthouses? This happened to me early on when I got the Vive. Once I moved both of them to my left and right about 2m away from the sim chair, it stopped happening.

Another thing to check is that SteamVR is the beta one not the 'normal' one.

for me its mostly dropping back to the load page in the vive and the game window itself is frozen. There has been times where its frozen in both the vive window eg game is still in window and also frozen on pc window

Could it be the particular aircraft you are using? Have you tried stock aircraft like the Baron?
Are you using more than one display?
Disable any addons from scenery.
Have you tried changing the Vive USB port from say USB3 to USB2 or from the front panel to one on the back panel?
Have you tried setting every P3D setting to minimum and fly with that for a while?
Have you tried putting everything on minimum for FI?
Have you tried starting at another (remote) airport in another country from the one you are currently in - with clear weather?
Are you running Nvidia inspector - or other changes from default in the Nvidia driver?

When I was trouble shooting my setup, I started with everything absolutely minimum - doesn't look pretty but the goal was to eliminate OOM or CPU/GPU issues and see if I could get a stable system. I ran with that for several days to prove that it was fixed then began to increase the settings that matter to me such as weather.

Keep going, finding the cause will be worth it.

It might be helpful that those having this issue put their rig specs in their signatures. You never know it could be a MB or memory type that is common for all of you.

...also are you running the Vive on HDMI or DisplayPort? Some have had trouble with the DP.

I'm unable to reproduce this bug on my 1080 unfortunately. If any of you can reproduce this fairly consistently, and are willing to let me test/debug on your computer over TeamViewer, shoot me an e-mail: dan@flyinside-fsx.com

Bonus points if you're available sometime 10am-5pm EDT this Friday 10/28 ;)
