Which GA airplanes show good fps in p3d?

Postby August78 » Sun Jun 26, 2016 5:47 pm

Hi folks! I have had success flying with the 777 and 737 from pdmg. I would like to try to payware GA addons as well. I have the 172 trainer and cherokee 180 from A2A, but they are actually worse on frames than the 777 and 737... Yes, I do have the gtn 750 installed, and that might explain the worse performance. In any case, which good quality GA addon have you had good frames in flying with FI?

While this may not answer your question, I have switched from Carenado C90 GTX to the default Mooney Acclaim. This is a very spirited aircraft. Cruise at 240kt+ I can't say much about the flight dynamics but the aircraft is fully modeled. That is, if you get out of the cockpit, you can stand outside on the ground and the aircraft is complete - all the panels and wing surfaces are there including the rudder. Very cool. It runs pretty well with the GTN 750 as well, so I have most of the AP controls now on my Saitek pro yoke.

Besides the misplaced Leapmotion interaction surfaces, A2A C182 works quite well. I did not experience any big impacts on overall performance. The P3D-included A36 works fine - but I guess you've tested that already.

This little freeware Zlin is a lovely model, great VC, pretty good FPS and fun to fly.

These are more leaning towards warbirds but also checkout out Ants Airplanes Tiger Moth and his T28s (the A model is donationware)

I have been flying the Realair Turbine Duke recently. It works very well with FI and I have the GTN750 FMS installed, again works well no issues. The Duke is a handful to fly and worth a look :)
