I have frozen images with an exit to the FlyInside menu when lighting (taxi light, landing light) but this happens once and it's understandable (I think that at that time new shaders associated with lighting are being created)

"Is this with every plane the same?"
I'm Still testing.

"Or with evey airport?"
I haven't had time to check all the airports, but will try a bunch later.

"Are you using any tools in the background? Like MSI Afterburner? Any overclocking of the GPU?"
No, the GTX 980Ti is more than adequate to handle VR without overclocking.

If I get time, I will grab screen shots of my Nvidia settings if that would help progress this issue.

Thanks,
Steven.

Hi Oleg,

It would not bother me if it froze during exiting, but the other day it froze while just taxiing.
There are so many variables: flyinside, Oculus Home, Nvidia driver, X-Plane 10 and their associated settings.

It would be very helpful if there was a guide for the optimum Nvidia settings on the wiki, but there's nothing there.

You dont have to check every airport or plane. Just try different environments to check wether it is a general problem or if it only happens with a particular plane/scenery

Hi Steven.
All the Nvidia settings I have by default except Power management. Try disabling Oculus Home (temporarily rename the folder C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Oculus \ Support \ oculus-client.) When I had a GTX 780Ti video card, I always deleted Vulkan after installing the driver, why it was a problem.
Do you use Process Lasso?

Hi Oleg,

Threaded optimisation is one that I always turn off as it can cause stuttering in the normal 2D desktop X-Plane.
I prefer to let X-Plane manage the threads. It goes without saying that power management is set to maximum performance.

"Try disabling Oculus Home"

That's interesting, I have never heard of doing that. I didn't know that Oculus Home wasn't necessary for running Flyinside.
I couldn't find anything in the Wiki about it.

"Do you use Process Lasso?"

No, I don't think that there's a need for it in my case.
Most reports on the internet say that some benefit can be had using Lasso if you are running hyper threading, less so if you are not.
It's also less useful when if running Windows 7, which I am.
Although I have an i7, I have disabled hyper threading in the bios. X-Plane seems to work better that way.
In any event, of the youtube videos that I have seen, showing how Lasso can improve gaming, most of the user seem to have loads
of processes running on their machines, some have more than 100! That's a bit like buying a Lotus and hanging a caravan off the back of it.

My computers are quite nailed down already in that area. On a clean boot I'm running just 40 processes, including the task manager.

Thanks,
Steven.

Hi Stevil,

Nothing conclusive as yet. I probably continue with tests tomorrow.
Ten hours in X-Plane running tests is enough for today.

I do not use Process Lasso, I have stuttering with it, so I asked. I have also disabled hyper-threading.
I have no more ideas than to help you.

I have enabled hyper-threading and using Process Lasso I gained quite a few FPS...
