Hello Haw-Boo,

Could you shoot me an e-mail, dan@flyinside-fsx.com ? I need to collect some additional data from your machine for this one. A very strange error

Thanks,
Dan

Updating this thread with some of the email replies back to Dan:

Hi.

I initially thought it was happening with all aircraft but I could not reproduce it with OOTB FSX-SE aircraft. I fly mainly with 3rd party add-ons such as PMDG, A2A, Carenado, and JustFlight. My initial post shows an error appear whilst using "FSX: Steam Edition - Eurofighter Add-On - Released: 9 Jun, 2016"

Actually just so we are clear, there are 3 things happening to me:

- random crash/message appearing. (Nothing seems to get reported in the log files?)

flyinside error.jpg (478.99 KiB) Viewed 10479 times

- crash when trying to switch aircraft using the flyinside switch aircraft option.

A message appears: "cannot create child window". Also. see attached log file collected at the time.

Then I captured a further example when trying to switch to PDMG 737:

380.375 CockpitModel\CockpitManager.cpp 327 Loading MDL.
380.375 CockpitModel\CockpitManager.cpp 331 Loading CockpitDesc
380.388 Utils\Asserts.cpp 48 FlyInside Fatal Error Encountered (W:0)
CockpitModel\StreamReader.cpp: Line 51
Please post this message to http://flyinside-fsx.com/forum/
Be sure to include what hardware, software, and versions you are running

(log files were attached to the forum post)

- cannot uninstall back to a previous version. Steps: a) Uninstall the latest release, b) while trying to install "any" previous version I get the following:

installerror2.JPG

I have tried following various suggestions to solve this one, but nothing seems to work?

Please let me know what more I can provide.

Regards.

David.

Hi Dan.

Hope you are keeping well.

Following our last emails, today I had a chance to do more testing on the following issue I have:

- crash when trying to switch aircraft using the flyinside switch aircraft option.

I setup the default FSX microlight on a default runway, then switched randomly between OOTB FSX aircraft (ie cessna, 737, baron). No problem at all.
I then switched to A2A C182 Skylane. The aircraft switched fine. So I tried to switch back out but when I press the switch aircraft button on the flyinside menu I got:

error 2.jpg
error 2.jpg (352.18 KiB) Viewed 10478 times

I click OK and the message appears again.
I click OK again and I am put back within the aircraft VR cockpit?
At this stage aircraft switching no longer works, and the cycle repeats itself.

So just to recap the above. I can switch default aircraft fine. I can load the A2A C182 using the switch menu, but I cannot switch from A2A C182 even though i can get back to the menu and click the switch aircraft button?

I have attached log file which shows everything I have done. The last loadaircraft shows the A2A C182 loading:

856.408 CockpitModel\CockpitManager.cpp 304 loadAircraft: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_C182\C182.air variant: C182_VH-DLL

But interestingly there is no further mention of "[SELECT AIRCRAFT]" after that, even though I go back to the flyinside menu and click the switch aircraft button?

I hope that helps.

Regards.

David.

Hello, Dan. I am getting the same fatal error screen when I load the A2A Club. Should I start another thread, or just watch this one? Thanks,

Hi Dan.

I have been away on a training course, and checking back in to find out how things are going?

Just a thought. Next week I am free, if it helps, would you like access to my machine to take a look around?

Regards.

David.
