OCCULUS or VIVE App for Pimax4K ?

Postby BigBang » Sun Jun 17, 2018 12:53 pm

Even though Pimax4K is not listed as HMD in FlyInside FSX Pro 1.92 - for Flight Simulator X, I heard that Pimax 4K is indeed working!
My question is: which App should I use
Oculus Runtime 1.10
or
Vive and Mixed Reality (SteamVR) ?

...And I own FSX Gold edition, not the Steam version, so I hope if it is VIVE, I don't have to buy the Steam version.

Try Steam VR :) as long as you have the pimax working with steam vr then you need that version of our software.

As mentioned above, I have the FSX Gold Edition with tons of Add-on, not the Steam version!

So again: can one of those two Flyinside versions work in FSX independently without Steam?

SteamVR has nothing to do with FSX Steam Edition vs non-Steam Edition. It's a free runtime that will let you interface SteamVR programs with your headset :)

So you will need to install Steam and SteamVR (both free), but then you should be able to use FlyInside FSX Steam Edition with your non-Steam FSX. Does that make sense?

And just a heads-up, FlyInside FSX requires at-least SP2 or the Acceleration edition so make sure your FSX Gold is as up-to-date as possible. Otherwise things won't work right.

You may also want to try disabling add-ons. Certain add-ons will cause conflicts so it's best to start with a cleanish setup, and then add them back in one at a time :)

I f you're planning to add Pimax to the list of devices soon, then I rather wait a while because I have tons of Add-Ons in FSX and uninstalling for it is not worth it.
