P3d rendered unusable by Fly Inside

Postby paphibbs@bigpond.com » Mon Dec 03, 2018 4:57 pm

I accidentally executed the FlyInside shortcut for P3dV4.4 today (meant to execute the P3d shortcut. It came up with an error dialog box stating that only 4.3 was supported and the sim shuts down. Now even executing the correct shortcut for P3d or the direct executable returns the same error state. I’m assuming a flag has been set to use the Fly Inside product and needs to be reset to not use it. Can anyone point me to the appropriate area please, as P3d has now been rendered unusable?

Yes mate, try going to appdata/roaming/flyinside folder and deleting......you will need to reset everything including putting your password back in, let me know how it goes.

Just to confirm, delete the entire folder.

Everything in it yes, if that doesn’t work then find your p3d.cfg and rename it or save it elsewhere and then restart which will reset p3d for you.

Thanks. I did try renaming P3d.CFG and regenerating it without any success. I’ll try deleting the FlyInside folder and get back to you.

Hi Tony, just to advise the outcome from this small disaster. I emailed your support desk and was advised to delete the d3d11.dll file in the Prepar3D root level folder. This has allowed me to use P3d again. Once the updated Fly Inside product is updated to support V4.4, I can simply reinstall and all will be well. Thanks for your assistance.

Regards, Paul
