FlyInside Flight Simulator Beta2 Branch - 0.6.0.0

Postby admin » Fri Jul 26, 2019 1:50 pm

Hi All,

Since yesterday we've made a few improvements/fixes. If you don't find any major show-stoppers we're going to roll this out as our new "main" sim version today, so feedback is appreciated :)

  • No more trees on runways ;)
  • Fixes most floating trees
  • Fixes a lot of airports where runways were underground
  • Fixes a lot of instances where a fake horizon would appear above you during low-level flight
  • Fixes broken torque gauge on B407

Opting into Website-Version Beta:
1. Turn on Debugging Tools from "Help -> About -> Usage Options"
2. Open "Debugging Tools -> Debug Diagnostics"
3. Expand "Debug Options"
4. For "Updates URL" specify "https://cdn.flyinside-fsx.com/SimLatest.ClosedBeta2/" (the final slash is important)
5. Restart your sim
6. Use "Sim -> Check for Updates" - It should show a prompt for version 0.5.9.6 currently

Opting into Steam Beta:
1. Open Steam
2. Go to the "Library" section
3. Right click on "FlyInside Flight Simulator"
4. Select Properties
5. Go to the "betas" tab
6. From the "Select the beta you would like to opt into:" dropdown, select "beta2"
7. Let Steam do its update thing!

Thanks!
Dan

Hi Dan and your team. This release is working extremely well. Very clear through the new Oculus Rift S. Helicopter rides in several countries undertaken with faultless results. Congratulations must be in order! A new standard set.

Hi Dan and team.
I am writing as I am just impressed with the results of this new update.

Wanted also to share a couple of youtube videos I have just uploaded to spread and do some marketing about FlyInside. Let me know if you don´t think I should publish them, and I will remove them ;)

This one in Spanish, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajtsw4QqMT0
The second one, still uploading in English (well...more Spanglish as I´m not native) should be ready in the link below in a few hours...My bandwith for upload is not great :(
https://youtu.be/AFfEbKt-cK4

On both I am doing a quick review highlighting your great job and encouraging the audience to buy it so you keep funding this great project

Keep that great job guys!!!!

Hello, I just flew in the Alps, the scenery floating in the sky is still there.
For trees, they follow the slope of the land, sometimes trees are found almost horizontally.

I repeated yesterday's flight around EGTK, the trees have gone from the blue water, but still pop up in the green - if you follow the Thames down to Oxford you can see this - and also we still have trees in the roads, and today I noticed them in the railway lines through Oxford. They are also appearing in the middle of green meadows where they are not naturally found. I think I would rather not have the trees at the moment.
I am also still getting stripey squares in the map view, I thought there was to be a fix for this?

There's another issue I have at EGTK - and I think this may occur at other airfields - the runway lights appear to sit on stalks which project perhaps a couple of feet into the air, rather than being at surface level.

I flew to Southampton, and then got called away from my PC for an hour or so. When I returned, I had multi-coloured patches in the scenery - see the screen shot.

Minor bug, and I don´t know if it´s only me, but following the tutorial for the 737, when you try to set the Trim to Neutral (I guess a value around 5) something works wrong, as the trim is pushing artificially down to 0 always, like adding an invisible force to move it down.
I have reviewed my keys - buttons linked to Trim, and I don´t think I´ve got wrong the setup, it doesn´t matter if I trim up with Joystick or Mouse, it still reacts to move it to 0.
As mentioned, nothing critical as it works ok when flying.

Same has happened to me flying over Barcelone. I was changing views. Those multi-coloured areas covering the mountains.
