The forum has been very quiet for quite some time, in particular, word from the developers on progress. Could we have an update please.

Thank you.

I must agere, there has been very quiet for a while, the developers was talking of a new airplane, new helicopter, fixed scenery and new scenery tools, but as one wrote on steam the developers of FFS has been silent since the news about MSFS 2020.

I dont hope that they abadone FFS, it a great simulator with a lot of potential, i would be a pitty.

To Dan, we need some news from you and your team, is this sims still under development ???

I had inquired about the outlook of FFS way back on June 11 (it was very quiet back then too) when the MSFS news broke....Still no reply.

Either way, MSFS appears to be good enough to blow every other flight simulator (both home and professional use) out of existence.

MS2020 killed FFS, there won't be anything new, they had to move on.

MSFS isn't out yet still a year away, update for FIFS planned for Janurary Dan says in a steam threat, and it's not killed, they continue developing it. We can first talk abou MSFS when its released and all have it, all other is speculation !!!!

As a Beta group tester and FM dev, I can assure you FFS is NOT dead. I worked with Dan a week ago on polishing off some new FMs and the release of them and new aircraft and other improvements is imminent. You will all be VERY pleased!

Please remember Christmas through New Year's is tough on work schedules.

Stay tuned.

Nice to hear that Tony.

Personally don't see that MSFS Mk II will have any impact on FFS.

For me VR is about the experience of flying the aircraft rather than operating it. The resolution limitations mean that until VR technology catches up, we aren't going to get anything like the MSFS trailer experience, so why pursue it and be disappointed?

Yes, scenery is nice but for me the important thing is the aircraft in its environment. I can't do complex things like changing radios easily so I'm not interested. I want to feel the difference in the aircraft as I take it around its operating envelope in various weather conditions.

I have chatted with a couple of developers and they want to get back to simpler, lower cost and faster developments where systems operation is only secondary and the flying experience is key.

I fly P3D v4 with FlyInside and X-plane without, both with VR and ORBX True Earth and the experience is underwhelming, and I don't have a low-end system.

I don't fly FFS at the moment much because I have lots of nice aircraft I've paid for in P3D v4. If and when we get a wider selection then I'll be in FFS more. Until then I am happy to put up with the jitters. I feel I pay a lot to get an aircraft I want to only use a little of the systems and generally Ctrl-E to get airborne.

So in summary (if you got this far well done):
Great work, keep it up and don't lose sight of the fact that this is not an MSFS competitor.
Get some external developers at least looking at offering some competitively-priced add-ons with the emphasis on VC look, functionality in VR and most importantly flight dynamics.

Let MSFS be for the rivet counting, systems and model detail lovers. Build something for us stick and rudder peeps.

One last thing, make sure your VC model gives a decent shadow on the ground. Nothing worse than flying an aircraft at low-level to see an isolated cockpit shadow on the ground below you!

And finally, have a great and successful new year.

Andy
