Seems like you are having a problem with the default eyepoint that is set for each airplane. Those are not very well set from the beginning, and it's just so much more obvious in FlyInside. You can adjust this by editing each aircraft's aircraft.cfg file.
Go to [FSX install folder]\SimObjects\Airplanes\[aircraft folder]\ and open the aircraft.cfg with notepad. Press ctrl-F and enter "eyepoint". Edit those numbers and save the file without closing it. Numbers are (feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from reference datum of the aircraft. Start FSX and go to settings and bind "reload aircraft" and "eyepoint reset" to keys of your choice. Sit straight, press both "reset HMD" and "eyepoint reset". Note that those are two different things, one is in FSX, the other one is a FlyInside setting. Check your poistion and edit the corresponding numbers in the .cfg-file as needed, save it and press "reload aircraft" and repeat until you are satisfied.

Another option is simply to add the 'move eyepoint' commands to a hat switch on your joystick and make a slight adjustment when you swap aircraft. That's how I do it and it works for me.

This is a problem within FSX itself, not really FlyInside-related. Of course, it could be fixed by FlyInside, but if Dan is going to fix all problems with FSX he won't have time for anything else. That said, it is important for the experience of FlyInside, and it's been requested before, by me among others.

Hi Bruce,
I have tried your suggestion (which I think is great) to assign the hat switch to the move eyepoint left, right, up, and down but without any success. My problem goes as followed, if I assign my hat switch first to move eyepoint left, it is fine here. Then if I assign the same hat switch to move eyepoint right, it tells me it is already assigned to the left, if I validate I loose the left assignment. So, what is the trick to assign the hat switch to 4 different directions in P3D V3.
Thanks for your help,
Bertrand

Hi Bertrand.

It sounds like you a biding a single button. A hat switch is a large control, usually on top of a joystick which should have (at least) four directions, like a small digital joystick similar to a 'D pad' on a games console controller. You will need to bind four (left right, up, down) or six (including back and forwards) buttons to get movement of the eyepoint properly configured.

what sort of joystick are you using?

Hi Bruce,
I am using the Saitek pro Flight Yoke, my hat switch on it has 4 directions up, down, left, and right. It is located at the very top left of my yoke (Hat shape like).
I am a bit surprised that my key biding assignment is not picking the 4 different directions option that my hat switch offers, but rather always thinks it is a single button.
I hope I am clear, and thanks again for your help,
Bertrand
