CV1/FSX:SE performance report

Postby rkmase » Tue Apr 26, 2016 2:59 pm

Just wanted to put this out there for benchmarking, see if anyone had any similar numbers or comments (or suggestions to squeeze out more fps ;)

Overall, the experience was really smooth. I will say I noticed a bit of jutter when the FPS would dip into the 30-40s, mainly noticeable when looking at the ground, and only intermittently. Largest overall FPS killer seemed to be clouds (of course).

Addons: REX Texture Direct, REX Soft Clouds, FTX Trees HD, MegaSceneryEarth 4x, Treeline North America

Cloud settings: 100mi draw, Natural, Detailed, High density
Nothing on the ground seemed to matter to FPS once I was a couple hundred up.

CPU usage: avg 100% on 3/4 cores
GPU usage: avg 60%

Rough FPS:
Clear sky: 70-85 FPS
Partially Cloudy: 55-70 FPS
Storm: 35-65 FPS

Not a bad idea for a thread although it's hard to compare with different scenery and specs. I'll contribute when my CV arrives!

If it's OK with the original poster I'll move this thread to the cv1 forum :)

How about picking a specific stock aircraft and airport and report performance with specific settings and also with P3D as well.
