P3d lag and camera issue

Postby Dedab » Tue May 24, 2016 1:59 pm

I have a bit of lag using the rift, all my driver are up to date running p3d v 3.2. My fps are around 50 fps on the window version of the game with all my setting set to normal. However in the rift the game stutter often. Also the camera seem to set me slightly back and to the right. Is there anyway to correct that.
System spec are
I6700k 4.4 ghz
Zotac 980 ti
16 gb ram
500gb ssd
Windows 10

Help please!

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum!

Looks like your specs are up to running the game well enough. You're reporting 50FPS in the sim, can you tell us what Async FPS FlyInside is reporting? The main FlyInside window in the sim displays this as the second figure, for example 50/90

Ideally you'll need to tweak your sim settings to get about 90 FPS on the Async counter so it matches the refresh rate of the rift (90Hz) Anything less tends to cause stutter in VR.

Cheers,

Regarding the camera being back and to the right, it's something you have to blame FSX for. Easiest fix is to bind your POV hat to adjust your seat position via FSX settings. It's called "eyepoint up/down/back/forward" etc. Then you can adjust your position quickly each time you start. If you want a more permanent solution, you have to edit each aircrafts' config file according to this post: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1578&p=7234&hilit=eyepoint+reset#p7234

I can't find the async framerate your talking about. I get my frame rate from msi afterburner display in the mirror window on the desktop. The stutter is when I look at the terrain as the plane move forward. I will seem if messing with the setting help.

I got the sim to be more fluid by messing with the setting and my async fps to be 45-65/70-90. The right side some time drop below the left side fps is that normal? Also is the a tutorial on how to open other window inside vr like chrome?

The frame rates appear in the Fly Inside tag (the one with the blue Menu button) which appears when you press the assigned 'action' button in the cockpit.
